It was decided in a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Second National Workshop on Instrument Maintenance and Repair that the Organizing Committee would act as an ad hoc Executive Committee (EC) of NITUB until formal EC is formed. The ad hoc executive Committee was as follows:

The ad hoc Executive Committee of NITUB framed a constitution of NITUB which was adopted in a general meeting of the members of NITUB in the year 2001. Since then the Executive Committee of NITUB is elected every three years as per constitution of NITUB.

NITUB has four salaried staff members who are maintaining the office of NITUB Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Chowdhury and Md. Tanvir Uddin, Instrument Engineers is full time employee of NITUB. NITUB has also two part time employess of which one is office assistant and the other one is cleaner.
Academicians, research scientists and professionals engaged in scientific education research and related activities are eligible to apply for membership of NITUB in a prescribed form (enclosed). Qualified instrument technical personnel may also apply for membership with the recommendation of two members of NITUB. The membership application for NITUB is considered in a meeting of the Executive Committee (EC) of NITUB to get approval. The life membership fee is Tk. 2000/- (two thousand).

At present, NITUB has a total of 292 members, including 11 founding members and 281 life members (among whom 6 are foreign members). Young university faculty, college teachers, graduate students, scientists, and technical personnel actively participate in NITUB activities.
